Dr. Elena Yárritu currently offers private lessons in North County San Diego, CA in the Del Mar, Mira Mesa and Carmel Valley areas. All ages and levels are accepted. Dr. Yárritu offers study in the French School using methods by Paul Taffanel & Philippe Gaubert in addition to the standard classical flute repertoire, etudes and orchestral literature. Also offered is expert guidance for auditions and competitions at both high school and college levels. Advanced adult students may negotiate lesson packages to suit their professional needs and goals.

Dr. Yárritu will host a summer flute master class in Saratoga, California July 20-26, 2008. For detailed information, click on Master Class Main. As of June 21 the class has 3 openings. Those interested are encouraged to apply by contacting Dr. Elena Yárritu directly. There are several daily events open and free to the public. July 20-26, 2008

This intensive summer master class for high school and college age advanced students of the flute will include daily master classes by master teacher Elena Yárritu featuring guest artists Isabelle Chapuis-Starr and Teresa Orozco-Petersen, and John Randal Hawkins, collaborative piano & chamber music.




COURSE
This unique course will focus on the standard flute repertoire. A secondary class will focus on the study and execution of orchestral excerpts including the exposition of Mozart Concerto in G. In addition to these two areas, a career development workshop will be offered for students to create their biographies, resumes, curriculum vitae and other career supporting material. A final discussion panel on career development will take place after the final master class where students can ask questions, brainstorm and create goals for their short term and long term careers.
